The 54th meeting between North Laurel and South Laurel volleyball teams turned out to be a good one for the fans with the Lady Jaguars escaping with a 3-1 win.
The game was much closer than the final score indicated with North Laurel only winning two sets by two points apiece.
The Lady Jaguars won the first set 25-17 before falling in the second set, 25-22. North Laurel won the final two sets, 27-25, and 26-24, respectively.
The win improved the Lady Jaguars to 7-3 while the Lady Cardinals fell to 1-3.
South Laurel still leads in the overall series, 45-9.
North Laurel will be back in action Tuesday against Madison Southern while the Lady Cardinals will travel to play Williamsburg Thursday.
