Black Bears dominate during 77-54 52nd District title game win over Bell County

HARLAN — Kyle Jones’ Harlan County Black Bears let it be known Friday night, the road to a 13th Region championship leads through Harlan County.

The Black Bears dominated throughout their 77-54 win over the Bell County Bobcats.

Senior Trent Noah showed why he’s the best player in the region, scoring 33 points while hitting three 3-pointers, and finishing the night perfect at the charity stripe, hitting all six free throw attempts.

Maddox Huff also had a big game, finishing with 20 points while knocking down four 3-pointers. Jaycee Carter also scored in double figures finishing with 10 points.

Harlan County is now 28-4, and a perfect 15-0 against 13th Region competition.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 25-7. Bell County started the season with a 16-0 mark, and has put together a 9-7 mark since.

Blake Burnett led the Bobcats with 17 points while Cameron Hall finished 12 points.
