Big Clay rolls past Pineville, sets up semifinal matchup with region favorite Harlan County 

CORBIN — Clay County wasted little time punching its ticket into the 13th Region Boys’ Tournament semifinal action on Thursday.

The Tigers built a 19-4 lead in the first quarter and never looked back during their 80-50 victory over Pineville.

The win sets up a brother vs. brother matchup and the two top-ranked teams in the region when Kyle Jones’ Harlan County Black Bears face-off against Mike Jones’ Clay County squad.

Ten different players scored for the Tigers in Thursday’s win as Hayden Harris and Elijah Bundy scored  17 points apiece. Bundy also added six rebounds while Harris finished with three points.

Adon Grubb added 11 points and nine rebounds while Ethan Jackson finished with 10 points.

Pineville’s Ashton Moser led all scorers with 22 points while Sawyer Thompson added 19 points.
