LADY COLONELS STARTING THE SEASON WITH A WIN: Whitley County takes a win over McCreary Central on the road 12-2.

WHITLEY CITY – Angela Singletons Whitley County Lady Colonels had a rough season this past season with a 12-24 record, they also lost Senior Ryleigh Petrey who played a big role for the Colonels last season at the plate and in the field.

But, the Lady Colonels started their 2024 season with a big win on the road over the Lady Raiders of McCreary Central.

When speaking with Head Coach Angela Singleton she said, ” I was proud of the girls for making adjustments. I would have liked to see them make them sooner. We still have some things to work on but for the first game of the season I am very proud of them!!”

“Amber Brown and Jadynn Johnson came up big at the plate.” says coach Singleton. “Caylee Singleton took care of business in the circle with the defense behind her,” said Singleton.

Coach Singleton also added, “Great team effort tonight, Makenzie Carr came off the bench in a clutch situation and got an RBI!”

The Lady Colonels will be in action next at home on March 12th vs Barbourville, with game time set for 6:00 P.M.
