Parra, Sawyers come up big during Colonels’ 10-1 win over Middlesboro

Johnny Parra and Matthew Sawyers came up big during Whitley County’s 10-1 win over Middlesboro on Tuesday.

Both players scored four goals apiece while Jacob Senters, and Brody Moses each added a goal apiece during the nine-goal victory.

“Tonight was a team win, several players stepped in where they were needed and performed well,” Whitley County coach Michael Branham said. “We controlled the ball in the middle and created a lot of opportunities for our guys up top.”

Sawyers leads the Colonels (4-2) with 18 goals while Parra isn’t far behind with 15 goals.

The win snapped Whitley County’s two game losing skid. The Colonels will be back in action Thursday at home against Pulaski County.
