The Jaguars bounce back with a win against Middlesboro

The North Laurel Jaguars got back in the win column on Thursday night with a 13-2 victory over Middlesboro. Middlesboro got the scoring off early in the first scoring 2 runs from two walks a throwing error and a passed ball. Middlesboro would not score again till the 5th.

North Laurel started off the second inning strong with a lead off double by 7th Grader Cooper Parman who would later steal 3rd and score off a ground ball hit to 1sr by Carter Kelly. Dillion Hurley would then move Kelly over to second off a single to left field. Andrew Cupp then collects his second hit of the day with a single to left that scores 2.

North Laurel added to their early lead in the top of the 3rd Parman grounded out, and Middlesboro made an error each scoring one run.

North Laurel scored 6 runs on 3 hits in the too of the fifth inning. J Douglas Gilliam drew a walk, scoring one run. Cam Smith hit a sacrifice fly scoring one run. Parman hit in fielders choice scoring another run while Kelly singles scoring a run and Cooper Elza singles scoring two runs.

Middlesboro’s Bayless hit a solo homerun in the fifth to score Middlesboro’s 3rd and final run of the contest.

Dylan Hurley of North Laurel got the win against Middlesboro tonight giving up two hits and two runs, while striking out 5 and walking two Middlesboro batters.

Wilson of Middlesboro started the game giving up 7 hits and 7 runs over 3 innings, striking out 4 and walking 3. Cooper Elza gained the save for North Laurel pitching two innings, striking out 3 and giving up one run.

North Laurel was very patient at the plate tonight drawing 7 walks led by Kelly and Eli Holt with two a piece and North Laurel was also spry on the bases tonight stealing multiple bases led by Parman and Kelly.

Bayless led Middlesboro tonight going 2 for 2 at the plate with and RBI off a solo homerun to right field.
