JACKSON — South Laurel pitcher Kenzie Williams turned in another stellar effort in the pitcher’s circle, but Lady Cardinals’ bats fell silent during their 2-0 loss to Breathitt County.
Williams tossed six innings allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out 12 batters in the loss. Williams has struck out 30 batters during her past two games.
The Lady Bobcats broke a scoreless game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. They added another run in the sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
South Laurel (2-2) finished with five hits as Williams and Addison Baker led the way with two hits apiece. Morgan Jackson also had a hit for the Lady Cardinals.
