HARLAN — Jackson County ran its record to 3-2 on Saturday after picking up wins over Harlan County and Claiborne, Tenn.
Game One
Jackson County 9, Claiborne, Tenn. 7
The Lady Generals fell behind 7-2 in the top of the third inning before scoring seven unanswered runs to defeat Claiborne, Tenn., 9-7.
Freshman Kylie Moore had a fantastic game, going 4-for-4 with two RBI, and four runs scored in the win while freshman Lexi Brockman connected with three hits. She also drove in three runs and scored twice. Josie Starcher delivered three hits and one RBI while Candice Williams finished with two hits and an RBI.
Williams picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, tossing seven innings while allowing nine hits and seven earned runs. She also struck out 10 batters.
Game Two
Jackson County 14, Harlan County 1
The Lady Generals scored three runs and never looked back during their 14-1 win over Harlan County.
Kylie Moore got the win, tossing 4 1/3 innings while allowing three hits and no runs. She also struck out five batters. Candice Williams pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing one earned run, and finishing with one strikeout.
Emily Mays led the way with three hits, three RBI and two runs scored while Boyle Berry had two hits and scored four times. Moore was 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored while Starcher finished with two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Williams had a hit and two RBI while Ella Sallee collected two hits and two RBI. Blakelynn Fee finished with a hit and scored once while Berkli Young scored once.
