EJ Allen dominates on the mound and at the plate during Whitley County’s 16-1 win over Harlan County

WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County hurler EJ Allen dominated on the mound and at the plate during Friday’s 16-1 win over Harlan County.

The win was also Whitley County head coach Jeremy Shope’s 500th career victory.

Allen tossed three innings allowing only two hits and struck out five batters as the Colonels improved to 4-1 during the process. He also went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored. 

Whitley County tallied 15 hits with eight of those tallying for five doubles and three triples.

The Colonels took a 3-0 lead into the second inning before the Black Bears scored a run in the top of the second inning.

Whitley County out the game away with five runs in the second inning and eight runs in the third inning.

Bryce Anderson went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and five RBI while Hunter Wilson went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Ronald Osborne collected two hits, four RBI and one run scored. 

Jerrod Croley had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored while Bradyn Bargo had a hit and a run scored. Tyler Rose finished with a hit while Matthew Wright scored twice. Chris Cureton drove in a run and Shane Parker finished with a run scored.
