ONE (GOAL) IS ENOUGH: North Laurel wins fourth in a row with a 1-0 victory over Garrard County

North Laurel recorded its third shutout of the season while extending its win streak to four games by slipping past Garrard County with a 1-0 win on Tuesday.

Jackson McCowan’s goal in the second half was all the Jaguars needed to lock up the victory.

“I thought we played well tonight and really passed the ball well, but we were tired from last night’s game and it showed in the final third,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “I felt we were a step slower than we usually are, but the players dug deep and we were able to come away with the victory.

“We had numerous opportunities in the box that we just weren’t able to finish until midway through the second half when Jaxon Jacobs connected with Jackson McCowan to give us the lead at 1-0. We played better defensively tonight and we’re able to hold on in the end.”

North Laurel is scheduled to be back in action Thursday at Lincoln County.
