LEXINGTON — Harlan County senior Trent Noah showed the Sweet 16 faithful what most in southeastern and eastern Kentucky know — he can flat out play.
There is a reason why the University of South Carolina signed Noah, and he showed why during the Black Bears’ 67-59 win over defending state champion Warren Central.
Noah was never phased throughout the contest, finishing with 35 points and 11 rebounds while hitting 6-of-8 shot attempts from 3-point range.
This isn’t new for Noah, he’s been doing this his entire career.
He now has 3,613 career points, and could very surpass Reed Sheppard (3,727) as the 13th Region’s all-time leading scorer if Harlan County continues to win.
Noah now has 1,075 points on the season, which is unheard of while raising his point average to 29.8 points per game. He also 378 rebounds on the season which averages 10.5 rebounds per game.
With a lot of attention focused on some other players and teams in the Sweet 16, Noah and his teammates let it be known Thursday that they are in it to win the whole shabang!
One thing I know for certain, don’t ever doubt what Noah and his teammates can do.
