Harlan County senior Trent Noah has been the talk of the KHSAA Boys Sweet 16, and deservedly so.
He has scored 83 points in two games while recording 20 rebounds. His 48 points he scored against Campbell County turned out to be the most since 1988 when former Clay County legend Richie Farmer tossed in 51 points in a game. The 48 points also ranks fourth in state tournament history, ranking behind Wayland legend King Kelly Coleman’s 68 points in 1956, Farmer’s 51 points in 1988, and Coleman’s 50 points in 1956.
Noah is also inching closer to becoming the 13th Region’s career leader in points scored.
He now trails former North Laurel star Reed Sheppard by 66 points. Sheppard finished his career with 3,727 points while Noah currently has 3,661 points.
