South Laurel’s bats remained red-hot at the plate, connecting with the a least two home runs for the second consecutive game during the Cardinals’ 5-1 win over Rockcastle County on Saturday.
Austin Byrd and Will Alsip each delivered home runs while both players finished with two RBI apiece.
Alsip was credited with the win on the mound, allowing only four hits and no earned runs in six innings of work. He also struck out six batters. Keaton Creech finished with two strikeouts while allowing one hit in one inning of work.
The Cardinals are now 5-2 with the win.
