ALBANY — Angela Singleton’s Whitley County Lady colonels looked to be well on their way to win No. 6 after jumping out to a 5-0 lead against Clinton County on Saturday.
But then the Lady Bulldogs slowly began to chip away at their deficit.
Whitley County held an 8-1 lead entering the bottom of the third before Clinton County scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning, two runs in the bottom of the fourth and three runs in the bottom of the fifth to collect a 10-9 come from behind win over the Lady Colonels (5-3).
Adalee Johnson led Whitley County at the plate with a home run while going 3-for-3 at the plate. She drove in five runs and scored twice. Amber Brown finished with two hits, two RBI and one run scored while Jayden Barton added two hits, two RBI, and a run scored. Kara Canada collected two hits and drove in a run.
