Lady Colonels use 12-run fifth inning to defeat Adair County, 17-10

ALBANY — After losing a heartbreaker to Clinton County, Whitley County responded in a big way against Adair County during the Lady Colonels’ second game on Saturday. 

Angela Singleton’s squad fell behind 8-1 against Adair County before rallying to pick up a 17-10 victory, improving to 6-3 during the process.

The Lady Colonels connected with two home runs and outhit their opponents, 14–12.

Cambree Price and Jadynn Johnson hit a home run apiece. Price finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, and three runs scored while Johnson was 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Hallie Huddleston drove in two runs and scored twice while Caylee Singleton finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Kara Canada had two hits, and three RBI while Cambree Price had two hits, two RBI, and three runs scored. Amber Brown collected two hits and scored once.

Singleton pitched 1 2/3 of an inning, allowing eight hits and four earned runs while striking out a batter. Canada tossed 3 1/3 of an inning, giving up four hits, and two earned runs while striking out three batters.
