WILLIAMSBURG — Lauren Partin’s and Allison Messer’s efforts at the plate played a big role in Lynn Camp’s 20-4 win over Williamsburg on Saturday.
Partin was a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, and three runs scored while Messer went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored as the Lady Wildcats improved to 7-1.
Jorja Carnes picked up another win in the pitcher’s circle, tossing six innings while allowing 10 hits and four earned runs. She finished with three strikeouts.
Lynn Camp scored three runs in the first inning and added a run in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Wildcats added three more runs in the fourth inning and scored six runs in the top of the fourth to push their advantage to 13-0.
The Lady Yellow Jackets responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score, 13-4, before Lynn Camp put the game away with six runs in the top of the sixth.
Lily Henzie added two hits, three RBI, and one run scored while Jorja Carnes had three hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Chelsea Hendrickson finished 2-for-3 with two RBI, and one run scored while Charity Steele had two RBI and two runs scored. Julie Moore finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored while Emma Burnette drove in two runs and scored twice. Cambree Prewitt delivered a hit, an RBI, and scored once.
Williamsburg (1-6) was led by Chloe Barman’s 3-for-3 effort while Makenzie Rice had two hits. Kaydence Parker delivered a hit and two RBI while Brooklyn Taylor had a hit and an RBI.
