Pineville’s Rachel Howard dominates in the pitcher’s circle during Lady Mountain Lions’ 14-3 win over Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG  — Pineville’s Rachel Howard continues to show why she’s considered one of the best pitchers in the region, striking out 10 batters while allowing only one earned run and four hits in the Lady Mountains Lions’ 14-3 win over Williamsburg on Monday.

Pineville (2-2) scored six runs in the second inning, two runs in the third inning and six runs in the fourth inning, building a 14-0 lead before the Lady Yellow Jackets attempted to rally with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Malley Smith had a hit, three RBI and one run scored while Madison Johnson finished with two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Baileigh Bargo-Vaughn had two hits, two RBI, and one run scored while Howard finished with a hit and two RBI. McKenzie Laws delivered a hit, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Williamsburg (1-6) was led by Allie Wilson, who finished with two hits, and two RBI.
