Whitley County was hoping to gain some momentum after beating Middlesboro on Tuesday but the Colonels ran into a red-hot Pulaski County team that cruised to a 6-0 victory against Michael Branham’s squad.
Pulaski County jumped out early, and never trailed with Ryan Beam scoring seven minutes into the contest to give his team an early 1-0 edge.
Thomas Dawes added two goals for the Maroons along with No. 3 Sawyer Gambill while Tyson Absher also scored a goal to give their team a 6-0 advantage at halftime.
Whitley County’s defensive stepped up in the second half, holding Pulaski County scoreless.
The Colonels’ Matthew Sawyers scored a goal during the 56th minutes but Whitley County couldn’t get any closer.
Branham’s squad will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 6 on the road against Knox Central.
