Lady Colonels struggle at the plate and in the field during 10-0 loss to Perry Central

STEARNS — Whitley County’s run in the Class 2A, Section 7 Tournament came to en end in semifinal action after they dropped a 10-0 decision to Perry Central on Wednesday.

The Lady Colonels (6-4) trailed 4-0 entering the fourth quarter when the Lady Commodores scored five runs to put the game out of reach.

Whitley County committed four errors in the loss and collected only five hits.

“We didn’t hit the ball like we are capable of tonight,” Whitley County coach Angela Singleton said. “Perry is a good hitting team with good defense. The balls we did hit were right at people. These girls will keep working hard and getting better.”

Kara Canada led the Lady Colonels with two hits.
