Lady Panthers get back on track with comeback win over Williamsburg

BARBOURVILLE — Knox Central broke open a five-all tie with two runs in the fifth inning while adding two more runs in the sixth inning to defeat Williamsburg, 9-5.

The Lady Panthers (2-3) snapped a three-game losing skid with the win as Zoey Hamilton and Sydney Grubb drove in two runs apiece.

Blakely Castle got the win, pitching seven innings while allowing six hits, and one earned run. She struck out eight batters.

The Lady Yellow Jackets (1-8) held a 4-2 edge entering the bottom of the third when Knox Central pushed across three runs to take a 5-4 lead.

Williamsburg tied the game at five apiece with a run in the top of the fifth before watching the Lady Panthers put the game away in the final two innings.

Chloe Barman led the Lady Yellow Jackets with two hits, and an RBI while Allie Wilson also drove in a run.
