Corbin coach Cody Philpot captures win No. 200 

CORBIN — Corbin coach Cody Philpot captured his 200th career win as the Redhounds cruised to an easy, 11-1, win over Rockcastle County.

The Redhounds (6-2) rolled to their fourth win in a row behind a six-run second inning, and another stellar pitching efforts by Cam Estep, and Will Freeman.

Estep got the win, going two innings while allowing no hits or runs. He struck out four batters while Freeman recorded the save, pitching four inning, surrendering only a hit. Freeman finished with five strikeouts.

Mikey Neal remained red-hot at the plate, connecting with a home run while going 2-for-3 with three RBI, and one run scored.

“Proud of these guys,” Philpot said. “So many guys are contributing right now and continuing work hard. Cam got a great start on the mound and Will came in a bad situation and got us out of it like he has so many times. Mikey has been on fire at the plate and continued that tonight, really happy to see all of his hard work pay off.”

The Rockets scored a run in the top of the third to make the score, 6-1, but Corbin answered with three runs in the bottom of the third to increase its lead to 9-1. The Redhounds added a run in the fourth and sixth innings to out the game out of reach.

Kade Elam delivered two hits, two RBI, and scored once while Estep had a hit, an RBI, and two runs scored. Walker Landrum finished with a hit and two RBI while Bradric Helton had a hit, an RBI, and scored once. Noah Cima finished with a hit and scored once while Cooper McCauley had a hit and scored twice. Lucas Tarvin scored twice while John Hobbs drove in a run.
