Wilson, Rice lead the way during Williamsburg’s 6-2 win over Owlsey County

BOONEVILLE — Williamsburg snapped a two-game losing skid, improving to 2-8 in the process with a 6-2 win.

Allie Wilson turned in a stellar effort in the pitcher’s circle, turning in a complete game while allowing only two hits, and one earned run. She also struck out 10 batters.

Makenzie Rice delivered at the plate with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored while Chloe Barman finished with two hits, and an RBI. Kendall Hamlin finished with two hits and scored once while Allow Wilson had a hit and an RBI.

“We played really well defensively,” Williamsburg coach Andrea Winchester said. “Allie had 10 strikeouts with only one walk. I was pleased with our defense.

“Our hitting still needs some work,” she added. “We have got to do a better job hitting together.  But we did enough to win the game, which is what counts. I am still very proud of the way they played and for them coming out with the win tonight.”
