FIVE IN A ROW: Jaguars capture fifth consecutive win for the first time in eight years

Tanner Broyles, and Jaxon Jacobs scored a goal apiece to give North Laurel its fifth win in a row as the Jaguars cruised to a hard-fought 2-0 road win over Lincoln County.

The five-game win streak is North Laurel’s first since 2014.

Keeper Ayden Ebersole collected his fourth shut out of the season as North Laurel has outscored its opponents, 26-5, during its past six games.

“Tonight was a good win for us,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “It’s been a long week with three games, but we were able to control the ball and find the back of the net twice for the 2-0 win on the road.

“Lincoln County is a good team and played us tough the whole night,” he added. “We opened the scoring about 10 minutes in when Tanner Broyles score off a corner kick from Jaxon Jacobs for the 1-0 lead. We carried that lead into halftime and it stayed that way util three minutes to go when Grant Abner found Jaxon Jacobs with a through ball that he was able to put in the back of the net to secure the 2-0 victory. This has been a long, tough week of games, but this entire team has shown that they have as much heart as they do talent.”

The Jaguars (6-2-1) will be back in action Tuesday at home against Southwestern.
