PIGEON FORGE, TENN. — Lynn Camp’s first game of its spring break trip didn’t go like the Lady Wildcats would have liked, but in the end, games against top-notch competition will have Nikki Hendrix’s squad ready for postseason play.
Lynn Camp (7-2) fell behind 6-0 before scoring its first run in the sixth inning of Monday’s 7-1 setback to Ohio’s Symmes Valley High School.
The Lady Wildcats will attempt to get back on track during Tuesday’s Cap Ripken Experience matchup against Mason County.
Allison Messer went 2-for-3 in the loss for Lynn Camp, finishing with an RBI while Lily Henize collected the Lady Wildcats’ other hit while scoring once.
Jorja Carnes took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, going six innings while allowing nine hits and two earned runs. She also struck out two batters.
Lynn Camp was outhit, 9-3, and committed two errors that led to five unearned runs.
