Colonels’ two-game win streak comes to an end with 6-1 loss to Lyon County

Six errors, combined with only five hits played big roles in why Whitley County dropped a 6-1 decision to Lyon County on Monday.

The Colonels entered with a two-game winning streak with hopes of extending it, but the Lyons scored a run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead, and never looked back.

Lyon County held a three-run edge until the top of the seventh when the Lyons added three more runs to extend their advantage to 6-0.

Whitley County scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning but failed to push anymore runs across the plate.

Bryce Anderson led the Colonels (7-6) with two hits and a run scored while Shane Parker, Hunter Wilson, and Ronald Osborne had one hit apiece. Tyler Rose finished with an RBI.

EJ Allen took the loss on the mound, tossing 6 2/3 of an inning while allowing six hits and one earned run. He finished with three strikeouts.
