Yellow Jackets drop third game in a row after 12-2 loss to Model

RICHMOND — A seven-run second inning was more than enough for homestanding Richmond Model during its 12-2 win over Williamsburg.

The Yellow Jackets (1-7) responded with two runs in the top of the third but failed to score any more runs as the Patriots added two runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth inning to get the win.

Williamsburg has now lost three in a row with hopes of ending its skid Tuesday at home against Bell County.

Henry Bowling led the Yellow Jackets with a 2-for-2 effort at the plate while scoring once. Gabe Prewitt collected two hits and drove in a run while Ethan Reed finished with a run-scoring hit. Isaiah Sizemore and Trevor Neace finished with a hit apiece.

Prewitt took the loss, lasting four innings while surrendering nine hits and eight earned runs. He struck out one batter. Mason Rountree tossed 1/3 of an inning, allowing two hits and three earned runs.
