Redhounds push win streak to six games with shutout win over Logan County

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — The 13th Region’s top-ranked team Corbin Redhounds captured its sixth win in a row while improving to 8-2 in the process by breezing past Logan County with a 9-0 win.

Kade Elam was stellar on the mound, turning in a complete game effort while allowing only three hits, and no runs. He also struck out seven batters.

“Another good win for us,” Corbin coach Cody Philpot said. “Kade threw well in his first start, proving that he can go more than a couple innings and we hit the ball really well today. Cam and Kade had breakout days and Botner continued to come up with timely hits. I’m just really happy with how many guys are stepping up for us on different days right now — a lot of actual team wins so far.”

Corbin scored in all but one inning in the win while opening up with a 4-0 lead after pushing four runs across home plate in the first inning.

Elam also came up big at the plate, delivering three hits, two RBI, and one run scored. Clay Botner was 2-for-2 with an RBI while Cam Estep collected two hits, and scored twice. Mikey Neal continues to swing a hot bat, finishing with two hits and an RBI while Walker Landrum and Noah Cima finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored apiece. Bradric Helton and a hit and scored once.
