Lady Wildcats put up a fight before losing 5-4 to Mason County

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Nikki Hendrix’s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats weren’t able to get the win over Mason County on Tuesday, but they did show a lot of heart and effort during their 5-4 loss.
The Lady Wildcats (7-3) are currently 0-2 while participating in the Cal Ripken experience but they’ve showed a lot of grit during their first two games.
Lynn Camp led 3-0 entering the bottom of the third inning and 4-1 in the fourth inning before the Lady Royals began to rally.
After falling behind, 4-1, Mason County scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at four apiece before pushing across the winning run in the sixth inning.
Jorja Carnes started the game for the Lady Wildcats, lasting five innings while allowing eight hits and five earned runs. She struck out three batters. Allison Messer followed Carnes, tossing one inning, allowing no hits or runs, and finishing with a strikeout.
Lauren Partin led Lynn Camp at the plate with a home run and a double, going 2-for-3 while also driving in two runs, and scoring once. Charity Steele and Emma Burnette finished with a hit and an RBI apiece while Carnes, Messer, and Lily Henize collected a hit apiece.
