Four-run fifth inning leads to South Laurel’s 9-5 win over Oxford Hills 

ORLANDO, Fla. — Carly Mink’s South Laurel Lady Cardinals improved to 2-0 during their stay in the Disney Training event.

After cruising to an easy 18-3 to open play in the Sunshine State, the Lady Cardinals handed Oxford Hills a 9-5 loss on Tuesday.

South Laurel (9-3) used a five-run third inning along with a four-run fifth inning to pull out the win.

Skye Lawson was the lone Lady Cardinal to collect multiple hits, finishing with two while driving in a run and scoring once. Ryleigh Bretz finished with a hit and three RBI while Emmie Rice and Bailey Frazier finished with a hit and an RBI apiece. Frazier also scored a run. Audrey Likins, Amara Horn, Morgan Jackson, and Addison Baker finished with a hit and a run scored apiece.

Kenzie Williams picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, tossing all seven innings while allowing eight hits and four earned runs. She also struck out 13 batters.
