Lady Jaguars’ struggles continue, drop second straight with 4-1 loss to Hancock County 

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — North Laurel suffered its second consecutive loss in the Florida Softball Beach Bash by dropping a 4-2 decision to Hancock County on Tuesday.

The Lady Jaguars (4-5) on track Wednesday with games against Owensboro and Lafayette.

North Laurel was limited to only four hits against the Lady Hornets, falling behind 2-0 in the second inning before trailing 3-0 in the sixth inning.

Chris Edwards’ squad scored a run in the bottom of the sixth only to see Hancock County add an insurance run in the top of the seventh to put the game away. 

Emma Carl took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, tossing six innings while allowing four hits and two earned runs. She finished with six strikeouts.

Tessa Monhollen pitched the seventh inning, giving up two hits, and one earned run. She struck one batter out.

Braylee Fawbush drove in the Lady Jaguars’ lone run with a hit while Saige McClure delivered a hit and scored one run. Bella Sizemore and Katie Adams also had hits in the loss.
