Cardinals drop second straight with 12-2 loss to New York’s Spencerport High School

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — South Laurel’s dropped its second consecutive game during Tuesday’s Cal Ripken Experience, falling to New York’s Spencerport High School, 12-2.
The Cardinals (10-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning but Spencerport answered with three runs in the second inning and six runs in the third inning to take control of the game.
South Laurel was outhit, 15-2, and committed four errors leading to five unearned runs.
Hunter Bundy finished with a triple and an RBI while Jack Vaughn was 1-for-2 with one run scored.
Keaton Creech took the loss, lasting 2 1/3 of an inning while allowing seven hits, and five earned runs. He struck out two batters.
