Lady Wildcats watch two-run lead turn into late-inning loss to Elliott County

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — It looked as if the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats were well on their way to grabbing their first win in the Cal Ripken Experience on Wednesday.
But unfortunately, Elliott County had other plans.
The Lady Wildcats led 4-2 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, only to see the Lady Lions score five runs en route to their 7-4 win.
Lynn Camp (7-4) is currently 0-3 during its current spring break trip, but could easily be 3-0.
After falling behind 1-0, the Lady Wildcats took a short-lived 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning, but Elliott County tied the game at two apiece with a run in the bottom of the second.
The Lady Wildcats added a run apiece in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-2 edge before the Lady Lions rallied to secure the win in the bottom of the sixth.
Chelsea Hendrickson led Lynn Camp with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored while Lily Henize had two hits, and scored once. Lauren Partin, Allison Messer, and Charity Steele delivered a run-scoring hit apiece while Messer also scored a run. Cambree Prewitt and Jorja Carnes finished with a hit apiece while Julie Moore scored a run.
Carnes took the loss, pitching six innings while allowing seven hit, and four earned runs. She also struck out six batters.
