Lady Jaguars watch four-run lead turn into two-run loss to Lafayette

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — What looked like a sure win turned into a disappointing loss for Chris Edwards’ North Laurel Lady Jaguars.

North Laurel built a 6-2 lead against Lafayette only to see the Lady Generals score seven unanswered runs during the final three innings during their 9-7 win over the Lady Jaguars.

Emma Carl took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, lasting 4 2/3 of an inning while allowing 10 hits and five earned runs. Carl also struck out five batters while Tessa Monhollen pitched the final 1 1/3 of an inning. Monhollen allowed four hits and two earned runs.

Bella Finley turned in a 3-for-4 effort at the plate for North Laurel while also scoring twice. Bella Sizemore was perfect at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Braylee Fawbush drove in two runs and finished with a hit while Carl tallied two hits and scored once. Saige McClure finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored while Katie Adams drove in a run and scored once. Ellie Adams had a hit while Katie Keen drove in a run.
