ORLANDO, Fla. — The defending 13th Region champion South Laurel Lady Cardinals finished their stay in Florida with a 10-5 win over Saint Ignatious College Prep.
The Lady Cardinals (11-3) are red-hot, now winners of five in a row. They’ll leave the Sunshine State, going a perfect 4-0 during their stay at the Disney Spring Training event.
Freshman Kenzie Williams got the win in the pitcher’s circle on Friday, tossing a complete game while allowing six hits and three earned runs. Williams also struck out four batters.
Emmie Rice connected with a two-run home run while also finishing with a run scored. Amara Horn led South Laurel with three hits and she scored once while Morgan Jackson had two hits and a run scored. Bailey Frazier and Audrey Likins finished with a hit and a run scored apiece while Rhyleigh Bretz drove in a run and scored once.
