MCKEE — In a commanding performance, the Clay County Tigers secured an 11-1 victory over Jackson County, with a dominant pitching performance by Brandin Crawford who struck out 13 batters. Crawford allowed only two hits and one run over six innings while issuing two walks.
The Tigers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Ethan Jackson’s left-field homer and Tyson Wagers’ single in the top of the first inning each brought in a run. Tate Rice extended the lead with a two-run homer in the third inning.
Jackson County countered with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth.
Clay County Tigers showcased their offensive prowess with 11 hits, including standout performances from Rice, who drove in three runs, and multiple hits from Wagers, Talan Marcum, Rice, and Crawford.
Clay County will host Jackson County again in their next game on Tuesday.
