Lady Cardinals drop 15-3 decision at home to Perry Central 

LONDON — Carly Mink’s South Laurel Lady Cardinals had hopes of continuing their red-hot play against 14th Region power Perry Central

On Monday, but the Lady Commodores had other things in mind.

South Laurel (11-4) suffered its worst loss of the season while watching its five-game win streak come to an end with a 15-3 setback to Perry Central.

The Lady Cardinals fell behind 2-0 in the first inning and 4-0 after three innings of play before the Lady Commodores scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning to take an 11-0 advantage,

Perry Central added four more runs in the fifth inning before South Laurel finally pushed across three runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Kenzie Williams delivered a three-run home run in the loss for the Lady Cardinals, finishing 1-for-3 with three RBI, and one run scored. Addison Baker had two hits and scored once while Morgan Jackson also finished with two hits. Emmie Rice and Bailey Frazier each had a hit while Ryleigh Bretz finished with a hit and a run scored. 

Jackson took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, tossing three innings while allowing seven hits and four earned runs. She finished with two Ks. Audrey Likins pitched two innings, surrendering eight hits, and eight earned runs while striking out two batters.
