The defending state champion Colonels are beginning to hit stride, capturing their fourth straight win thanks to a 5-1 victory over Lexington Christian on Saturday.
The Colonels (12-7) received two hit efforts by Jason Nunley and Hunter Wilson at the plate while coach Jeremy Shope used five pitchers to seal the win.
EJ Allen got the victory by starting the game and tossing one inning, allowing two hits while striking out one batter. Bradyn Bargo, Kip Allen, Christian Wilson and Trey Walton combined to pitch the final six innings allowing four hits, and one earned run.
