Ten-run second inning locks up 17-1 Whitley County win over Williamsburg 

WILLIAMSBURG — A 10-run second inning highlighted Whitley County’s, 17-1, win over Williamsburg on Monday.

The Lady Colonels (11-8) captured their first 50th District win of the season by jumping out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning and never looking back.

Whitley County took advantage of six errors while pounding out 12 hits in the win as the Lady Yellow Jackets fell to 2-12 overall, and 0-1 against district opponents.

Amber Brown turned in her best performance of the season, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate while driving in two runs and scoring three times. Jayden Barton was 2-for-3 with two RBI, and two runs scored while Kara Canada had two hits, and an RBI. Morgan Huddleston finished with a hit, two RBI and two runs scored while Ciara Pittman had a hit and two RBI. Hallie Huddleston finished with an RBI and two runs scored while Adalee Johnson connected with a hit and scored once. Cambree Price finished with a hit and scored once while Caylee Singleton drove in a run, and scored once. Jadynn Johnson drove in a run and scored twice. 

Canada got the win, notching her fifth win of the season while allowing five hits and one earned run. She struck out three batters.

Allow Wilson led Williamsburg with a hit, and an RBI while Makenzie Rice had a hit, and scored once. Chloe Barman, Kendall Hamlin, and Jasmine Stephens had a hit apiece.
