MCKEE — Jackson County’s Candice Williams was almost perfect in the Lady Generals’ 11-0 win over Harlan in Monday’s 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic championship game.
Williams, this past week’s L4 Security 13th Region Media Network Fastpitch Player of the Week, was dominant in the pitcher’s circle, tossing all five innings while allowing only two hits, and no runs. She finished with nine strikeouts.
But Williams wasn’t the only Lady General (13-4) that turned in an impressive effort.
Baylee Berry, Aubrey Estridge, and Blakelynn Fee each delivered home runs in the win.
Berry went 3-for-3 with two RBI, and two runs scored. She had a home run, and two doubles. Fee was 2-for-3 with three RBI, and two runs scored. Kylie Moore turned in a 1-for-3 effort, driving in a run and scoring once while Williams was 2-for-2. Emily Mays finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored while Josie Starcher was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Aubrey Estridge had a hit, two RBI, and scored once.
Jackson County scored five runs in the second inning while adding three runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth inning.
Ella Lisenbee and Ella Farley finished with a hit apiece for Harlan (6-8).
