MANCHESTER — When Clay County and North Laurel hook up, you can throw the records out the door because the two teams will battle until the end.
Monday’s 49th District matchup wasn’t any different.
With the game tied at 10 apiece, Clay County’s Ethan Jackson delivered a walk-off home run to give the Tigers an 11-10 victory.
Clay County threw ace Brandon Crawford, and it looked as if the Tigers might cruise to a win, but the Jaguars continued to fight throughout the contest.
Clay County built a 4-2 lead in the third inning before pulling out to a 10-6 advantage.
North Laurel continued to battle, and managed to tie the game at 10 apiece in the top of the seventh inning.
Just when it seemed as if the Jaguars how captured the momentum, Jackson connected with a solo home run over the fence to give his team the win.
