TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS: Cardinals sweep Williamsburg, outscore Yellow Jackets, 36-4, during two-game series 

LONDON — South Laurel put 18 runs in the scoreboard the second consecutive day, defeating Williamsburg 18-0 in only two and a half innings.

The Cardinals improved to 14-8 overall, and evened their record against 50th District opponents to 2-2. They outscored the Yellow Jackets (1-13, 0-4) 36-4 during the two-game series.

South Laurel pitcher Keaton Creech pitched three innings, allowing only four hits while striking out four batters in the win.

Ten different Cardinal players recorded hits with Creech leading the way. He went 2-for-2 with three RBI while Tyler Curry had a hit, three RBI, and scored once. Vincent Sizemore had a hit, two RBI and one run scored while Mason Boggs finished with a hit and two RBI. Waylon Hensley had a hit, an RBI, and two runs scored while Jack Vaughn connected with a hit, driving in one run and scoring twice. Keaton Smith and Will Alsip had a hit, an RBI and a run scored apiece while Reece Noble finished with a hit and scored. Wilkelver Gaviria-Zuleta drove in a run while Hunter Bundy and Kamden Dewees scored two runs apiece. Jameson Durham also scored a run.

Henry Bowling led the Yellow Jackets with two hits while Isaiah Sizemore and Hayden Kleinert had a hit apiece.
