THE ’Q’ FOR THE DAY: Can our 13th Region teams continue their impressive play?

What a night it was for football in the 13th Region.

Let’s start off with Middlesboro taking its first win of the season after suffering back-to-back losses. Maybe this gets the Yellow Jackets some momentum back into the Yellow Jackets season. Next we have Whitley County defeating Harlan County in a game where many people thought Harlan County would dominate but the Colonels came to play and that may just be the push the colonels needed.

Williamsburg got the win in an exciting game against Leslie County where it was a battle between two quarterbacks as Landry Collett and Sydney Bowen went head-to-head as the former 13th Region Player of the Year came out on top.

How about the Corbin Redhounds?

They made a statement on the road against a very good Franklin County team.

The Redhounds dominated from start to finish and proved why they are ranked No. 1 in the region.

We had Pineville in our Tim Short Auto Mall Game Of The Week, and the Mountain Lions played a complete game and was in total control of the ball game from start to finish as they get the impressive win over Paris.

Last but certainly not least is the North Laurel Jaguars putting the state on notice after upsetting Johnson Central at The Jungle.

This is a game some people thought Johnson Central would run away with but that was not the case in London Friday Night as the Jaguars with a very impressive win over one of the top teams in the state.

Don’t forget both Harlan and Williamsburg remained unbeaten as well while Whitley County picked up its first win, and Clay County continues to roll.

Don’t you just love Friday Nights in the 13th Region?
