JACKSON COUNTY — Seventh grader Cooper Parman withstood windy conditions to help pitch North Laurel to a 15-4 win over Jackson County on Tuesday.
Parman notched his third win of the season, tossing a complete game while allowing seven hits and four earned runs while striking out three batters.
The win improved North Laurel to 11-11 overall and 3-1 against 49th District opponents.
Eli Holt delivered two doubles, three RBI, and scored twice while Andrew Cupp had two hits and three RBI in the win. Cam Hinkle delivered three hits, three RBI, and scored twice while Cooper Elza and Cameron Smith finished with a hit and two RBI apiece.
“Cooper Parman threw a really good game under extremely windy conditions,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “It was a challenge to just make plays the way the wind was blowing out. I thought we had some really good at bats and played well defensively in windy conditions.”
North Laurel led 4-2 after the first inning, and 8-3 after the third inning before scoring six runs in the fourth inning to put the game away.
