Lady Jaguars run win streak to 10 games with 21-4 victory over Jackson County

MCKEE — A 10-run third inning combined with an eight-run fifth inning was more than enough runs for Chris Edwards’ North Laurel Lady Jaguars during their 49th District matchup with Jackson County.

The Lady Jaguars (14-6 overall, 3-0 vs. district opponents) won their 10th game in a row while scoring the most runs in any game they’ve played this season during their 21-4 win over the Lady Generals.

Tessa Monhollen picked up the win, allowing seven hits, and three earned runs while Braylee Fawbush and Ellie Adams connected with a home run apiece.

“Proud of my girls tonight,” Edwards said. “This was a 1-1 game after two innings and I challenged my girls at that point in the game. After that we had a couple of big innings and stretched the lead. Proud of how my girls responded to the challenge.

“Offensively, we had Multiple hits from Katie Sams, Bella Sizemore, Braylee Fawbush, Ellie Adams, Emma Carl, Bella Finley and Katie Keen. Braylee and Ellie with back-to-back home runs in the third inning,” he added. “As a group we seen the ball well tonight. Tessa Monhollen pitched the complete game and did well again. She has been very good this year and tonight was no different.

Practice tomorrow and another big game Thursday at home against Corbin. Go Jags.”
