Sizemore, Bowling silence Pineville’s bats, Yellow Jackets snap 12-game losing skid with 4-3 win 

WILLIAMSBURG — Isaiah Sizemore and Henry Bowling turned in impressive efforts on the mound while Gabe Prewitt and Bowling came up with crucial hits at the plate as Williamsburg held off Pineville in a 4-3 thriller.

The win improved the Yellow Jackets to 2-16 while snapping their 12-game losing skid in the process.

The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead but Williamsburg tied the game at one apiece in the third inning while taking control of the game with a three-run fourth inning.

Pineville attempted to rally late, adding a run in both the fifth and sixth innings to cut their deficit to 4-3 but couldn’t get any closer.

Sizemore got the win, tossing six inning while allowing six hits and two earned runs. He finished with nine Ks. Bowling picked up the save, pitching a scoreless and hitless seventh inning. He struck out two batters.

Prewitt had three hits and one RBI while Bowling finished with two hits, two RBI, and a run scored. Jacob Jones finished with a hit while Hayden Kleinert scored twice, and Trevor Neace scored once.
