BOMBS AWAY!: Nunley Homers in the Colonels 4-1 Victory over Anderson County.

The Whitley County Colonels triumphed over the Anderson County Bearcats with a 4-1 victory on Saturday. They took an early lead in the first inning due to an error, scoring two runs. Adding to their lead, they scored one more run in the second, and Hunter Wilson’s single brought the score to 3-1. Jason Nunley sealed the win with a solo home run in the third inning.

Christian Wilson pitched an impressive game for the Colonels, securing the win after allowing only one unearned run over six and one-third innings. Bradley Johnson suffered the loss for the Bearcats, despite a strong effort, giving up two earned runs over six innings. Tyler Rose earned the save for the Colonels after coming in during the sixth giving up no hits.

RJ Osborne drove in two runs for the Colonels, with Hunter Wilson leading the team with three hits. The Colonels showcased their speed, stealing five bases and turning two double plays. Logan Grubb stood out for the Bearcats with one RBI.

Next up, the Whitley County Colonels will face off against Harrison County tonight.
