Lady Colonels post 1-1 mark with win over Lincoln County & loss to Rye Cove

Whitley County 13, Lincoln County 6
The Lady Colonels used a three-run first inning and a seven-run third inning to pull away and record a convincing 13-6 win over Lincoln County.
Five players had multiple hits for Whitley County (13-11), as Hallie Huddleston led the way with two hits, four RBI, and one run scored. Amber Brown finished with two hits, and three runs scored while Adalee Johnson delivered two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Jayden Barton finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored. Jadynn Johnson had two hits and scored once. Caylee Singleton and Morgan Huddleston finished with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored apiece while Cambree Price connected with a hit and drove in two runs while scoring once. Kara Canady finished with a hit.
Singleton tossed 4 1/3 of an inning, allowing six hits, and only one earned runs while striking out four batters. Canada tossed the final 2 2/3 of an inning, giving up four hits and no runs. She struck out four batters.

Game Two

Rye Cove 11, Whitley County 0

The Lady Colonels never got on track against Rye Cove, finishing with only one hit during their 11-0 loss.

Whitley County (13-12) fell behind 6-0 in the first inning and never recovered. Angela Singleton’s squad committed six errors leading to 11 unearned runs. 

Cambree Price delivered the Lady Colonels’ lone hit while Kara Canada took the loss. Canada tossed 2/3 of an inning, surrendering five hits and one earned run while striking out a batter. Caylee Singleton pitched the final 5 1/3 of an inning, allowing seven hits and no earned runs while finishing with five Ks.
