The Jackson County Lady Generals advanced to the Elite 8 of the All ‘A’ Classic State Tournament after turning in a 2-1 effort in pool play action on Saturday.
The Lady Generals (17-7) lost their first game of the day, dropping a 7-3 decision to Hazard before picking up wins over Whitefield Academy (15-5) and Trimble County (10-0).
Game One
Hazard 7, Jackson County 3
Josie Starcher and Kaylie Moore led the Lady Generals at the plate with two hits apiece while Moore took the loss in the pitcher’s circle, tossing six innings while allowing seven hits and one earned run. She struck out three Batters.
Game Two
Jackson County 15, Whitefield Academy 5
Kylie Moore went 5-for-5 with two double, three RBI, and three runs scored to lead Jackson County past Whitefield Academy, 15-5.
Josie Starcher hit a home run while delivering two hits, two RBI, and scoring once. Aubrey Estridge had three hits, two RBI and one run scored while Lexi Brockman delivered three hits and scored three times. Baylee Berry finished with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored while Blakelynn Fee delivered two hits and scored twice. Ella Sallee delivered two hits and drove in a run. Candice Williams collected a hit and an RBI while picking up the win in the pitcher’s circle. She struck out 13 batters.
Game Three
Jackson County 10, Trimble County 0
Candice Williams dominated, allowing only two hits while striking out 10 batters during the Lady Generals’ 10-0 win over Trimble County.
Baylee Berry had two hits and four RBI while Kylie Moore finished with two hits and three RBI.
