Redhounds capture David Iery Invitational

Corbin captured the David Iery Invitational championship by holding on to defeat, 5-3.

Both teams scored two runs apiece in the first inning but the Redhounds (17-6) added a run in the second inning while pushing across to runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score, 5-2.

The Eagles scored a run in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.

Walker Landrum delivered a home run for Corbin, finishing with a hit, an RBI, and a run scored while Bradric Helton also drove in a run with a hit. Lucas Tarvin provided the Redhounds only other hit in the win.

Jeremiah Gilbert got the win on the mound, tossing 6 1/3 of an inning, allowing three hits, and one earned run while striking out 11 batters. Ethan Abner was credited with the save, going 2/3 of an inning while striking out a batter.
