Lady Redhounds capture season-best fourth win in a row

CORBIN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds captured their season-best fourth win in a row while improving to 2-2 against 50th District opponents on Tuesday.
The Lady Redhounds (10-14) used an eight-run third inning to pull away from Williamsburg to record a convincing 16-1 win.
The loss dropped the Lady Yellow Jackets to 4-19 overall, and 0-5 against 50th District opponents.
“Tonight was a great night for my girls at the plate, 15 hits, eight were doubles, and we had seven girls with hits,” Corbin coach Crystal Stidham said. “Abi Beller, Kallie Housley, and Bailey Stewart each were perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 each. Raegan Walker is just seeing the ball so well right now, she was 3-for-4 tonight with another home run and three RBI. Kennedie Guiher, Averi Croley, Morgan Hicks each added a hit for us. Those ladies, along with the other gals, were putting ball in play, giving us a chance, and adding 16 RBI as a team.  I’m super proud of them. Team is where it’s at.
“We have to keep this momentum going, they have been hitting all season and so many times had runners in scoring position and things just weren’t  falling in place for us,” she added. “We are finally connecting together and putting things together. Abi pitched a great game tonight.  She struck out six. She was able to get them off balance and the defense was solid behind her.  Her team was able to help her take care of business and get it done in four innings of work. Let’s Go Lady Redhounds.”
Corbin led 2-0 after the first inning and 3-0 after two innings of play before scoring eight runs in the third inning to take an 11-0 advantage.
